The Places to See in the City Center of Fethiye

Fethiye Old Town

Old Town, or as known as Paspatur, is an old-style shopping center in Fethiye city center, just like Grand Bazaar in Istanbul. The shops are ordered side by side, selling Turkish spices, delights, authentic items, souvenirs, clothes, local foods, rugs, and carpets. It is the most popular bazaar in Fethiye, no doubt. The top of the bazaar road was covered with colorful umbrellas, which makes the bazaar appealing and fun. The bazaar not only has shops, but also has restaurants, cafes, bars, and pubs.

Amyntas Rock Tombs

Undoubtedly, the massive rock tombs of Amyntas Ancient City are the most visited place among historical remains. It is surprising how high they reach and built the graves on a rock. These rock tombs belonged to the Lycians, who were a significant state of the time. They believed that when a person dies, a creature that has wings comes and takes the dead body. To be able to let that happen, they build their graves on high rocks. Today, we have built graves on the rocks. You can see these rock tombs in your Amyntas Ancient City visit.
